Parent Parties

Parent parties offer two fabulous ways to participate in Spring Fling. Grab a few friends and host a party — and bid on some of the amazing parent parties other families have put together!

Have an idea for a party? Download a donation form and let us know what you’re thinking. We can help you flesh out an idea or just put your party straight on the calendar.

Interested in bidding on a party or three? A bounty of parent parties will be offered during this year’s online Spring Fling auction and at Spring Fling 2012 – Great Gatsby. How does it work? Bidding for parties opens online in April and continues at the event.

A list of parties and a downloadable calendar will be available in the spring. We’ll be sure to post here, on our Facebook page, and in school newsletters when the auction is ready to go live.

Questions & Answers

Q: Who can host a parent party?
A: Anyone can host a party! Gather a few friends, choose a location, create a theme, choose a ticket price — and you’re set.

Q: Where should I host my parent party?
A: Anywhere that makes sense for your co-hosts and your theme. Many parties are held in the home of one of the hosts. Others, such as hikes, biking trips, and block parties are held outdoors.

Q: When should I host my parent party?
A: Parent parties are hosted throughout the year. On your donation form, let us know the dates that work for you, and we will help you make sure your party is scheduled at a time that makes the best sense for you, your hosts, and prospective guests. Remember that school vacation periods, school breaks, long weekends and holidays may not always be suitable times for the families who would like to bid on your party.

Q: How much should I charge for my party?
A: In our experience, families are happy to support a generous, well-considered ticket price for parent parties because they know that all proceeds go directly to supporting Piedmont schools. Talk to your co-hosts and friends and get a sense of what they’d be willing to bid for your party. Email us with any questions and we can help you find a solution.

Q: Where do proceeds from winning bids go?
A: Parent parties are critical to the success of Spring Fling each year. 100% of proceeds from winning bids on parent parties go directly to Piedmont schools, as party hosts come together to donate party costs.
